It’s Officially Summer

Summertime! It’s finally here and this past week we enjoyed as many summer activities as we could possibly squeeze in. Sunday I took Emerson to the new splash pad in town — judging by the amount of people there, it’s a huge hit. I only had to run through the sprinklers (in my clothes) with her once before she was brave enough to run wild on her own. We went to Taco House and dried off with some nachos and burritos before calling it a day. Later in the week we had our first trip of the season to Arnold’s Park. Emerson was psyched to get her season pass and...

Family Reunion

We had the pleasure of seeing lots and lots of family this weekend! Nabers from all over the country gathered at the Lakes for some excellent meals, fun in the sun, and a competitive cribbage tournament — a Naber tradition! Emerson has been talking about how excited she is to see her cousins for weeks now. Earlier this week she asked me if we could go to the store and buy a wagon. I asked her how much money she had and if she was willing to trade her change for a wagon. She replied that she would like to save her money but that we could use my money. Wise beyond her years!...

Travel Tex

After a looong winter, Emerson and I decided to take a vacation! What better place than sunny Houston to visit some of our best buddies! We took an extended Memorial Day weekend vacay and soaked up some sun, pool water, and lots of good food! Prepare to scroll… lots of pics ahead! The Flight: As the excitement for the trip built, so did the anxiety! Traveling with a toddler isn’t easy, and I wasn’t quite sure what I was getting myself into. In preparation for the trip I investigated the blogosphere for tips on flying with kids. Many travel blogs later, we must have done everything right because our trip...
