Happy Halloween! I think I’ve put eyeliner on Emerson more times in the last week than I’ve put on myself in the last 6 months… honestly it’s about the only thing she will let me help her with these days. As you can see, Emerson’s final costume decision landed on Lucinda the ‘Bad Witch’ (this is a ‘Sofia the First’ reference for those of you who aren’t Disney Jr. smart). She enjoyed a night of trickery and ate more than enough treats to last until next year. At Emerson’s age, holidays like Halloween are definitely more for parents than anyone else! Dressing her up was fun, but what I really look forward to is the day she decides to do it for her own enjoyment! We started the night off with a little Halloween goodie bag (any excuse to spoil her, right?) and much to her surprise a card to open – her favorite! It’s pumpkin day for my little pumpkin! Emme and I kicked off the Halloween weekend by watching ‘It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown.’ She loved the Peanuts theme song and will be jamming out on the piano before we know it (my motherly intuition told me so). We had a great time with Gram and Gramps – watched Iowa dominate and ate a lot of brownie cookies! The days always seem to go way too fast but we’re thankful they could stay as long as they did!
