Birthday Countdown

Emerson had her 1 year photos taken yesterday! We had a blast — luckily it was a very photogenic day. She smiled pretty and I’m excited to unveil the photos… next weekend! Trust me, they’re wonderful. Until then, here she is eating toast and lasagna. I wish I could say she had as much fun smashing her cake at the photo shoot as she did last night eating dinner....

Nic’s 28th

Hard to believe another Friday is here! Somehow I made it through the week without posting pictures from Nic’s birthday last Saturday. It was a beautiful morning spent walking to the square, eating breakfast at Smokey Row and shoe shopping! I wish every weekend started out like this! Later that day my dad visited and we had a great time relaxing, playing with Emerson and watching movies. Here are a few shots of the delicious biscuits and gravy breakfast…      ...

10 Fingers, 10 Toes, 10 Months

Is it just me or does 10 months seem significantly older than 9 months?  Every day is a new adventure when they change so quickly.  We’ve come quite a long way in a short amount of time. Emerson has grown from 19.5 inches when she was born to 30 inches! She’s become an adventurous eater, sound sleeper, and colorful comedian. In the past month she’s had a 48 hr stomach flu, an eye infection and 6 new teeth! Completely hardcore if you ask me! Even with all that trauma we’ve managed to have a great month! She’s mastered extreme crawling in which she acts like a dog and runs around...

Monkey See, Monkey Do

We’ve been chasing Emerson around the house ever since she started crawling 6 weeks ago. It’s rare to find her sitting in one place for more than a few seconds which is why it took me two weeks to accomplish a few decent 8 month pictures. Our little monkey is a silly girl and already loves copying us. She repeats clapping, waving, making tongue clicking sounds, and even tried tossing her hair back just like her mom the other day. She loves exploring her new house and pulls herself up on anything and everything she can reach. I’ve recently added baby food to the list of things I like to...

Carrot Top

We celebrated the 7-month mark with another attempt at baby food. Rice cereal has been going very well the past few weeks, so we thought it was time to try again. I used many sneaky tactics tonight to make this a fun experience for her. She dined on carrots in her ‘Bounce and Spin Frogger’ while I sang the Indian Fight Song (her current favorite tune – Ra-Ra-Ra!). It turned out to be everything I could have asked for. She loved the carrots and ate like a champ. I will definitely be buying darker-colored towels for occasions such as this. As we were finishing up she noticed her reflection in the...
