Night Before Christmas

Christmas Eve Day was full of family, friends and food! It marked the first day of waking up to a house full of Naber girls (and Gene) — a week-long tradition we hold dearly. Thanks to Emerson my sisters didn’t get to sleep in as late as they would like considering they were on vacation, but they were just as happy to wake up to her as she was to have them here! One highlight of the day was catching up with some of my favorite friends over lunch!  I couldn’t feel more blessed to have these women in my life and am so proud of each one of them!...

Birthday Weekend: Sunday

The final birthday event of the year (I haven’t even begun to cover birthday celebrations in Spirit Lake and Humboldt the previous weekend) began when Mimi Meg and Mimi Jor arrived Sunday morning. Papa and Mark also joined us for a BLT feast before opening more gifts. When my sisters weren’t busy having a photo shoot in the curtains, a new tea set and bowling pins entertained us for the rest of the day. Finally after several days of anticipation, we ate cake! We enjoyed all our guests throughout the weekend, but by Sunday night I was ready to order pizza and kick my feet up!  ...

Aunt Jory

My sister, Jory, came for a visit Friday night! Emerson is all about her aunts so this was a special treat! It was quite the hot day so the sprinkler and ice cream were definite musts along with several dance parties, lots of singing and unfortunately a lot of drooling and boogies thanks to E’s cold. Despite not feeling great, Emerson loved every minute of Jory’s visit, especially driving her car! Thanks for coming, Chroma!...

Easter Weekend

Hippity Hoppity, Easter’s on its way! Emerson was able to see all 4 grandparents over the holiday weekend. We started it off Friday morning with a long drive to Spirit Lake. It was relaxing to get there early in the afternoon and to spend the day with Gram before everyone else made it home. E had a blast with her Aunties and I have to say Jory was hands-down the favorite this visit… sorry Meg but you know it’s true! The absolute highlight of the weekend for Emerson was the Easter egg hunt. Her natural inclination to carry a basket or purse at all times was a huge advantage. Gram’s egg...

Iowa Children’s Museum

On St. Patty’s Day, my sisters took Emerson and me to the Iowa Children’s Museum in Coralville for some creative play. While we were there Emerson did some grocery shopping, visited the hospital, played several instruments, built a car, and learned about gravity! I’m sure she’ll get more out of it when she’s a little older, but I would still recommend it to any parents looking for a fun place to let their tots explore!...
